*Breaking News! Updated 01/03/09
- Alpine Road Publishing Launched & Functional - One of our goals at JavaMusiK is to eventually create transcriptions of the recorded compositions and arrangements to be distributed through our newly formed Alpine Road Publishing company. A small step has been completed in that direction with the completed transcription of After The Rain sheet music. It's notated form is now uploaded and available for preview and download purchase. In addition, you will discover writings related to Music Education, as well as downloads from the JavaMusiK archives. More will become available as it becomes transcribed. Stay tuned!
- Facebook: Are U On It? - www.Facebook.com has become all the rage lately for social networking. In many ways, it feels less 'slimy' than recent MySpace incarnations, due primarily to the overuse of flash/html editing & stimulus overload at MySpace. Click here to access Jeff's Facebook Profile. If you're not registered on Facebook or 'Friends' with your friends, you will have limited access to their profile, etc. This is a great feature. The default privacy settings allow you to control who you network with and what can be shared with whom on this particular site. Be sure to send Jeff a 'Friend Request' upon visiting.
- 2008: What a Year for...CHANGE!!? - Jeff blogs a rant at The JavaMusiK Blog concerning change as it pertains to him recently. Click on the BloG link & go have a read. A reminder as you peruse; Don't forget to Vote (unless you haven't done your research)! Some mistakes are unforgivable...
- First JavaMusiK YouTube Video Uploaded! - JavaMusiK is now on YouTube.com with a video for Route 451. Click on the title & go have a look. Be kind in your Ratings &/or Comments. It's our first one - hahaha!
- Masters Degree Completed! - JavaMusiK wishes a congratulations to Jeff on the completion of his Masters of Music Education Degree at VanderCook College of Music in Chicago. He completed his studies this summer with a thesis project and piano recital demonstration which included several of his own compositions, among others. Jeff wrote some reflections about graduation day in The JavaMusiK BloG. Be sure to read it and all the other mindless (but now highly educated) drivel throughout that blog.
We also wish to note Jeff has started this school year off in a new (to him) school district. After 7 years teaching elementary music along with establishing a gold medal award winning childrens choir program, pioneering a western slope honor choir and resurrecting a defunct band program in Parachute, CO, he is now teaching music at two elementary schools in New Castle, CO. Once again, Jeff is organizing a childrens choir with hopes of establishing a positive opportunity for his students.
- Thank-you Estes Park! - Jeff was invited to return to Estes Park, Colorado for a June 10 Summerfest performance where YMCA of The Rockies, played host to our only 2008 concert appearance. We were proud to be a part of the Y's 100 year anniversary with their Summerfest festivities last year and return again this year for our 7th appearance in the last 10 years. As one of Jeff's favorite places to play, it once again didn't disappoint this year. The crowd was fabulous & of course the atmosphere was perfect as usual.
We're hopeful that now with the masters degree studies behind him, the concerts can resume as well as some long-awaited recording. Stay tuned!
- Final Farewell . . . - William Van Devender passed away April 11, 2008. He fought many battles with cancer and heart issues for over 35 years and was a survivor until the end. His work as a music educator, love of God & family and his passion for happiness made everyone around him a better person. Jeff's father was an inspiration to many including Jeff and will be greatly missed. We dedicate
Final Farewell to William Van Devender. June 15, '37 - April 11, '08
